Carmichael Park Band Festival

Sunday, June 6th - Carmichael Park Band Festival - This is the 3rd year our band has performed at this festival. As we prepared to hit the first note of the concert, we were surprised to see many of our friends and family putting on t-shirts that said 3 Note Band. I'm sure everyone could see us smiling! Not only did they say 3 Note Band but they had everyone's name and the instrument they play. It turned out that Jay Stowe had designed the shirts, had them made, and contacted many of our friends and family who preordered them. What a GREAT surprise!! Thank you Jay!

As our fan club settled, we started playing the 1st song, Strike Up The Band. We continued to play a variety of tunes chosen by Maestrini Frueh, that kept the crowd entertained; from Big Band, show tunes, march music, and even one song with a latin flair. Pirates of the Caribbean is always a crowd pleaser especially when the band members put on their special pirate accessories before playing the tune. Then our own Bev, (normally a trumpet player) kept up the entertainment by playing about a dozen different percussion instruments for Paraphernalia Polka all while wearing her festive hat. It was a fun performance that everyone seemed to enjoy. We even wanted to watch instead of playing. This was also our first park performance with our singer Mickey. She was great, singing many songs including Bill Bailey & Dixieland Salute. We're so glad to have found her while performing at one of our venues.

But we couldn't do all this without our wonderful and dedicated Maestrini Dorothy Frueh, who has instilled in each one of us a deep love and passion for music. Thanks to her and to our wonderful friends and family for supporting us! See you at our next concert in December.
